The intellectual power of the British Army is a key factor in ensuring its continued success as one of the best fighting forces in the world. Specialist officers of the Educational & Training Services Branch deliver individual education and language training to Army personnel as well as advising on the development and delivery methods of a wide range of military training matters across the Army. Their role extends even to advising on Resettlement training and future employment to those leaving the Army at the conclusion of their service.

As a qualified ETS officer, you will be involved in many of the following:

And not from a distance. The specialist service provided by ETS officers has to be delivered not just in military bases in UK and abroad but especially when deployed on operations or training exercises overseas. Therefore all ETS officers undertake the same basic military training and leadership development as the rest of the Army. Some additional areas where ETS officers are often called upon for their specialist communication skills in support of operations are as Linguists or in Liaison, Information and Media Operations.
